For Tier 1 suppliers (Tier1), Benchmark's requirement is to be qualified to provide products to multinational automotive OEM / EV manufacturers outside of China; suppliers to the domestic electric vehicle market in China; annual cumulative production capacity> 5GWh.
Based on this standard, there are only 6 companies that truly comply with Tier1, namely LG Chem, Panasonic Tesla, CATL, Samsung SDI, SKI and Vision AESC.
Of these, only CATL and Vision AESC are Chinese battery companies. (AOTELEC is Chinese battery equipment manufacturer)

Qualified to provide products to multinational automotive OEM / EV manufacturers outside of China
China's domestic electric vehicle market supplier
Cumulative annual production capacity> 5GWh (equivalent in evaluation)
-Level 2:
Not yet qualified to provide products to multinational automotive OEM / EV manufacturers outside of China
Qualified to supply domestic electric vehicle manufacturers in China
Eligible to provide non-electric vehicle applications
Annual cumulative capacity> 1GWh (equivalent at the time of evaluation)
-Level 3:
Not yet qualified to provide the electric vehicle terminal market
Annual cumulative capacity> 1GWh (equivalent at the time of evaluation)
Main focus: Non-electric vehicle market, including portable and stationary
After CATL and Prospect AESC, Chinese battery companies can only hope to be recognized by international auto companies if they truly cross the above-mentioned series of challenges, so as to truly realize the“transformation”of Chinese power battery companies to the global Tier 1.
